SHEILA GAYLE - Voice and Beginning Piano (Mohegan Lake Location)

Sheila Gayle, a resident of Putnam County, has been singing and playing piano since the early days of elementary school.  Educated at Boston University’s College of Music earning Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Voice Performance, Ms. Gayle also studied at Tanglewood’s Berkshire Music Center, and operatic roles with Lidia Borriello Sterlini in Rome, Italy as a recipient of the Frank Huntington Beebe Scholarship for Musicians through the New England Conservatory of Music.  While there, she earned a spot as a semi-finalist in the first Maria Callas Competition for Operatic Singers.  Mostly retired from the active musical scene, Ms. Gayle still sings in an around the area in various churches and synagogues, and other organizations like Putnam Chorale! Ms. Gayle teaches voice and piano privately, as well as at The Music Box in Poughquag, NY and The Music Learning Center in Danbury, CT.
