Laura Lee Spence is an accomplished vocalist and music educator with over two decades of experience in teaching and directing vocal programs at various educational levels as well as performing both contemporary and classical music. Ms. Spence holds a Master’s degree in Music Education from Hunter College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Opera Performance from Purchase College Conservatory of Music. Her academic and professional journey has been marked by numerous accolades, including the Alice Hertz Heniger Prize and the Hoffman Scholarship, as well as a scholarship to study overseas at the Sorbonne in Paris.

Currently serving as a Choral/General Music Teacher at Anne M. Dorner Middle School in Ossining, NY, she has consistently demonstrated her passion for singing and music education with a commitment to fostering creativity in students. In addition to directing the chorus and founding the AMD Glee Club, she has designed and implemented an innovative music curriculum for grades 6-8 that includes playing the ukulele, guitar and keyboards as well as integrated technology to enhance learning. Her leadership extends beyond the classroom as Laura Lee is also a frequent presenter, facilitator and mentor, contributing to the growth of both her students and the broader education community.

Before transitioning into education, she worked in music marketing and event management including roles at Sony Music Entertainment and the New York Philharmonic, where she managed high-profile events.
