ANNETTE VACCARO - Piano Instructor (Croton and Mohegan Lake Locations)
As a retired Music Educator and District Wide Music Administrator from the Lakeland Central School District, Annette has instructed thousands of students from elementary through high school vocal music, piano, music theory and theatre arts while she acted as the "Wig 'n' Whiskers" Theatre Director/Producer for over 20 years. For a short while, she served as an adjunct professor at Mercy College and Westchester Community College. Her high school performing groups earned Gold Awards and Excellence in Performance recognition at many NY State and National Music Festivals. Personally, she has performed at several local venues including The Mahopac Farm Playhouse and Westchester Broadway Theatre, to name a few. In retirement, she continues to perform as a freelance vocalist/pianist with several recordings to her credit. She is a recipient of the Cab Calloway Lifetime Achievement Award, Disney Teacher of the year Honoree, Wal*Mart Teacher of the Year, Lakeland Education Foundation Alumni of the Year Award, Bravo Channel Excellence in High School Theatre Award and has received citations/proclamations from the Westchester County Board of Legislatures, The New York State Senate, the Governor of NY and the Towns of Yorktown and Cortlandt Manor for exemplary professionalism during her 31 years as an educator.
