SUSAN KAFER - Group Piano Instructor

Summer Group Piano Class - BM in Applied Piano-The Boston Conservatory, Teacher Training for Certification at  University of Massachusetts, and -MAT in Music Education at  Manhattanville College.
Susan has taught piano for 30 years, and works extensively as a pianist in the tri-state area. She has served as musical director for numerous theater productions including performances at the Tarrytown Music Hall, the College of New Rochelle, and the Irvington Town Hall Theater. Susan has accompanied several NYSSMA Zone 10 Area All-State Choral Festivals, is a certified NYSSMA adjudicator, and has worked as an accompanist for numerous All-State solo adjudications.  Susan presently teaches music in the Ossining School District, and has directed her students in performances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.  Over the past 16 years she has piloted and implemented two highly successful music programs at Ossining High School; Piano Class I and II, and Gimme The Microphone, a contemporary vocal music workshop.  Prior experience includes work as a staff accompanist at The Boston Conservatory, pianist at the Graymoor Spiritual Life Center, and organist at St. Ann's Church in Ossining. As a teacher, Susan is committed to engaging a broad range of students by creating exciting, challenging, and valuable musical experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
