MICHAEL LUCKE - Trombone and Brass Specialist, Piano (Croton and Mohegan Lake Locations)
Michael Lucke has been a freelance musician for over 20 years. He began playing piano at the age of 6 and picked up the trombone at age 11. He received a performance degree from the University of North Texas in 2001 where he was a member of the UNT Wind Symphony and the world renowned One O'Clock lab band. Upon graduating from UNT, he moved to New York and attended The Juilliard School as a member of the inaugural class of their Jazz program. He has performed in a wide variety of settings with artists such as Michael Brecker, Joe Lovano, Woody Herman Orchestra, Frank Sinatra Jr., Wynton Marsalis, Tim Hagans, Kenny Wheeler, Bill Watrous, and Jim McNeely. In 2001 he was the winner of the Solo Jazz competition at the Eastern Trombone Workshop. He is comfortable in a wide variety of styles including Classical, Jazz, Rock, Funk, and Salsa. He has been a member of the Westchester Symphonic Winds since 2013, and currently resides in Sleepy Hollow.
