MEGHAN RYAN - Strings Instructor

Meghan Ryan is a faculty member of the music department at the Ossining Union Free School District where she has been teaching for almost 20 years.  Currently she is the Orchestra Director at the Anne M. Dorner Middle School, teaching violin, viola, cello, and bass to students in 6th through 8th grade.  Ms. Ryan received her Bachelor’s in Viola Performance from Boston University’s College of Music where she studied with Steven Ansell and Michelle LaCourse.  For her graduate work she continued to study with Michelle LaCourse, earning a Masters in Music from University of Massachusetts-Amherst.  Ms. Ryan has also studied with Patricia McCarty and Edward Gazouleus at The Boston Conservatory of Music (now the Boston Conservatory at Berklee).  As a performer, Ms. Ryan enjoys performing on both violin and viola.  She has studied alternative string styles with Julie Lyonn Lieberman and Irish Fiddle with Brian Conway.  Ms. Ryan also attended the first Mark O’Connor teacher training camp and is certified in Books One and Two of the Mark O’Connor String Method.
